I'm Craig Carmoney, Educational Consultant, a retired School Superintendent and lifelong educator who now assists school districts with building projects, election campaigns, and long-term planning.

Craig Carmoney's Bio:

Craig Carmoney is an Educational Consultant with Integrated Designs, Inc. where he advises schools on building projects, election campaigns, and long-term planning. Craig retired from Meridian Public Schools on November 30, 2022 after almost 12 years of service. Craig Carmoney was the 2021 MASA Michigan Superintendent of the Year. Meridian Public Schools is a 21st Century school district that has partnered with the New Tech Network, Project Lead the Way, and Delta College to offer project-based learning, 1:1 technology, and early college for all students. Meridian is the only district in the state of Michigan to operate a full-school early college and partner with the New Tech Network to support K-12 project-based learning for every learner. Meridian Early College High School. Under Superintendent Craig Carmoney’s almost twelve years at the helm, its first-year college completion rate more than doubled to almost 80% and its most recent graduation rate increased from a historical average of just under 90% to over 95%. Closing the "Opportunity Gap," and focusing on equity were of great importance to Craig as he saw the potential in every student. A focus was made to support the whole child which meant that a significant investment was made in the social and emotional wellbeing of every child. In May of 2020, the Sanford Community was devastated by a historic 500 flood that caused the dam to wash away and resulted in the loss of many homes and businesses and the lake itself. This was right in the middle of the first wave of the Covid Pandemic. Craig was one of several community leaders who stepped up to support the community leading relief efforts. He was part of the Long Term Disaster Recovery Team and was honored by the United Way of Midland County as a Hero and Hand Raiser. Craig Carmoney was appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to the Student Recovery Advisory Council in 2021 and also served as the Co-chair of the Academic Recovery Subcommittee. The focus of that committee was to provide tools and resources to support unfinished learning that resulted from the Covid Pandemic. Being active and involved in the community is a priority for Carmoney. He has served in numerous organizations that include the Michigan Association of School Administrators, New Tech Network District Leadership Council, Midland County Long-Term Disaster Recovery Committee, Sanford Area Chamber of Commerce, the Saginaw Valley State University External Advisory Team, the My Michigan Health Midland, Board of Directors, the Greater Midland Area Community Center Board of Directors. Craig Carmoney has dedicated his career to ensuring that every child is given the opportunity and pathways to succeed in life, college, and careers in the 21st Century. Carmoney holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Grand Valley State University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Saginaw Valley State University.
